Victoria Station @ Jalan Ampang

Yesterday while driving back home after a charity dinner at SMJK Chong Hwa, out of a sudden my mum suggested going to Victoria Station for lunch today to celebrate Father's Day. My mom used to say the food served there was very expensive and I never had the chance to try out even though it was just 10 minutes drive from my home. Hehe... Well, things always change, so does my mum's mind. We had our first family lunch at The House of Fine Steak - Victoria Station.

Some grandma story about Victoria Station---->> The first station was Station Damansara, then here comes the Station Ampang, Station USJ, Station PJ and up north to two stations in Penang - Station Bayan Baru and Station Seberang Jaya later on.

You will easily notice Victoria Station if you pass by Jalan Ampang because of the attracting classic train head. According to my mum, the train was real. Haha..

The interior building looks like the old British castle.

A very unique and the cozy ambience, suitable for couples dining or friends gathering or business dinner. But today, I saw mostly was family instead of couples.

Here goes another train inside the building. Im not sure if this one was real too.

You can also request to sit inside the train to have your meal. It will be a special experience.

"Ting Ting Ting!" Passengers for Platform 9, please get into your seat quickly! Our train will start moving very soon. =P

Premium Australian Grape Juice. We did not order that. It was already served on the table once we sat down.

Complementary bread with butter.

Chicken Maryland. (RM21.90)
My dad's order. The plate came with deep fried supreme of chicken, garnished with sausage and top with banana fritters. The chicken is crispy outside, oozing with juiciness and tenderness inside. The sausage was ordinary and the banana fritter is odd to appear in a western plate. The corn and fries provide a portion of  carbohydrate while the vegetables were good enough to balance up the oiliness of the chicken.

Fish & Chips. (RM19.90)
And this was my mom's order. A plate which was simpler with premium fish fillet, chips and salad. The fish fillet was well seasoned, breaded and fried to perfection. The fillet might not look appealing, but the breaded outer layer brought up the boring taste of usual fish and chips, making it more flavorful.  Having the fish fillet together with the traditional VS Tartar sauce dipping made my mum gave another double thumbs up to this dish.

Cajun Salmon & Grilled Lamb Loin. (RM31.90)
Being greedy to get a taste of lamb and salmon, my little brother and I ordered this. The plate came with an iresistable combination of imported salmon and grilled lamb loin, served with potato of the day and salads. The salmon was very fresh but the bone within the salmon made it a letdown..=.= .  I like the lamb loin very much as it did not have overly strong lamb smell. The chef did a good job in preparing it as the lamb was well marinated, tenderly cooked, and a  few slight chew already brought it down to my throat. Awesome. This dish worth with the price!

Our total bill at the end of the meal was RM129.45. My dad's eye ball nearly dropped out after saw that. Haha... Anyway, Victoria Station is a very famous and recommended place to have fine steak. You wont regret going there for steak. And one more thing, there is no spaghetti or pasta served in the restaurant like others. So, you gonna order steak for sure there. =D

Happy Father's Day to my dad and to all the father in the world!

p/s: dear, help me wish happy father's day to your dad too.. =D

Umai-ya @ Damansara Utama

Again, this is a redundant post. We actually went to Umai-ya on 15th of May to celebrate my girl's birthday eve. Actually my girl's birthday was on 16th of May but since Umai-ya only offers buffet lunch on Sunday, and my girl had been begging me to bring her there, so we celebrate a day earlier.

Time and date is not a matter as long as the heart is full with sincere and wishes, right? XD

The buffet starts at 11.30am. Since we were not so familiar with the route around Damansara, we went out earlier and we ended up reaching there at 11am. So we waited for half an hour at Coffee Beans, shaking our legs.

I dono why but I just love this picture taken by my girl. =D
She said she purposely take the photo of the shoes as it makes her thought of " everyone is special, no matter where and who you are. So stop comparing and starts to love yourself more ".

Yeah yeah... Happy Hour's gonna start!

This is how it looks like when you open up the order menu. Just tick the food that you want and pass it to the waitress. And your food will be served on your table after that.

A pot of ocha was served once we sat down.

Free flow of Tiger beer.

Sashimi moriawase.
A varieties of fresh and irresistable sashimi.

Yakitori.
Tasted ordinary.
The meat was a bit dry but the sauce and onion slice gave an extra kick to the overall taste.

Beef negi.
The taste of the beef was very strong and flavourful at the beginning but as I chewed on, the taste of the beef started to be taken off by the green onion, and at the end a fresh and balance taste was felt in the throat. Very great dish.

Soft Shell Crab Tempura.
One of the best dish that we enjoyed.
Three big fat deep fried soft shell crab, crispy at the outside and the flesh remain juicy.

Grilled Saba Shioyaki.
We didn't heart this. It tasted like the ikan goreng my mummy used to cooked back at home.

Chicken Teriyaki.
The taste was a little boring.

Dragon Maki.
Prawn tempura sushi roll topped with unagi. A combination of satisfaction.

Soft Shell Crab Maki.
Their sushi was very tempting but the portion was way too much for only two persons.

Umai-ya Green Salad.

This salad was very refreshing with a hint of sourness and spiciness. I wouldn't said that it was not nice, but the taste was quite unique and different from the salad I usually eat.

Grilled Shishamo.
We didn't really like this as well but the table next to us ordered quite a few portion of this.

Chawanmushi.
Smooth and silky texture with great ingredients loaded beneath the egg.

Special Mushroom Soup.
The bowl looked was special but the soup was not. My girl ordered this just because she liked to try out food with the name "mushroom" on it.

Green Tea Ice-Cream.

Wasabi Ice-Cream.

Chocolate Ice-Cream.

We stopped torturing our stomach with this. What is this ? can't guess? Is salmon sashimi dipped with melted green tea+ chocolate + wasabi ice cream..heee

We were very full when coming out from Umai-ya but by the time we reached home at night, we felt regreted for not eating more. Total bill ended up after the buffet was RM111.35 (inclusive of service tax and government tax). Buffet in Umai-ya is really worth the price due to the freshness of their ingredient, plus all the dish is made upon order.

Transformer @ One Utama

Today I'm not gonna write a post on food, but I want to share with you all about the latest happening at One Utama Shopping Centre - TRANSFORMER.

In conjunction with the Transformer 3 - Dark of The Moon which showing up by end of this month, Naza Quest was holding the Chevrolet Transformer 3 Roadshow at One Utama starting from 6th of June till 12th of June 2011. I wouldn't know about this event if my girl didn't told me. She showed me a blog on this Transformer roadshow previous day and she was a bit sad because she does not have the chance to take photograph for the event. Well... I shall went there to take some picture and share with her later on. Girl... Wait for me coming to Penang first, then I will take you out for snapping. =D

Looking from the third floor inside the shopping mall.
The roadshow really gain a lot of attention from the public.

The main attraction of the roadshow - Lived size 22 feet model of Optimus Prime. The Autobot is as tall as two floor of the building. The uncle in the photo must be thinking : " How they build this thing up and it looks so real?? This is still not the main point. The main point is I cannot understand why this 22 feet thing attracts so many people. "  Once you reach there, you will see everyone keep on taking photos with the Optimus Prime. Haha.. ( Includes me as well )

Besides that, there were also lots of small size Transformers on the shelves too. I'm not a big fan of Transformer but I just wanted to take picture on them. Let me show you some that what I have taken as shown below:

(Again... It is purely for sharing)

Does it look like pointing middle finger??

Alright, let me introduce you the second star attraction of the roadshow, Chevrolet Camaro SS which act as Bumblebee in the Transformer movie!

A pretty cool and interesting car.

And do you know how much is the Chevrolet Camaro SS?

Is RM488,999! For those Transformer fans, you may consider to buy this car if you are rich enough. Hoho... =P

Well.. That is the end of my post. Hope you don't miss out this interesting roadshow.
