Yuen Garden Dim Sum House @ Puchong

Yuen Garden dim sum at Bandar Puchong Jaya is one of our favourite dim sum shops as it offer delicious dim sum at very reasonable price. This place is always pack with customers especially during weekend and one of the good thing is they offer dim sum from morning till night. If you crave for dim sum during dinner time, you can always visit Yuen Garden.

Chee cheong fan.
Silky smooth chee cheong fan with fiery chilli sambal. We ordered two portion as it is so delicious.

Steamed Bean curd roll.
Generous meat filling wrapped in bean curd, steamed, and drizzle with sweet and spicy sauce. Normal but appetizing.

har gao.
Yuen Garden use fresh and sizeable prawns in preparing this dim sum. Bouncy and succulent prawns pair well with the outer skin.

pai guat.
The pai guat tasted weird to my girl but I like it. It had a hint of herbal taste and the yam has infused with the meat stock, making it soft and flavorful.

loh mai gai.
Sinful glutinous rice with lap cheong, chicken, seasoned minced meat and mushroom, one of the must order in Yuen Garden.

chao lo bak gou.
We like the lo bak gou in Yuen as it is full with wok hei.

Overall, ot a bad place for dim sum but you need to bear with the crowd and the heat especially during lunch time.

McSHAKER Fries @ McDonald

Right after our lecture class, me and my girl head to McDonald at Seri Kembangan to have our dinner. McDonald is introducing the new McShaker fries at the moment. You will be given one MacShaker for any Large McValue Meal or Large French Fries purchased. Too bad I missed out their cheese MacShaker when they selling it previously. So, THIS TIME! Me not gonna MISSED it again!

Picture always look nice to us. Well... I already get used to the sentence "image is for illustration purpose only" Let me try it out whether it really look that nice or not.

Tadaa... I was given one paper bag.

And one small packet of BBQ McShaker.

So, what are we gonna do with these two things? Fun part is here! You just have to follow the 3 simple steps below before you can enjoy your McShaker fries.

Step 1:
Pour your french fries into the empty paper bag given.
Then, tear the McShaker at the top right corner and pour the content into the paper bag.

Step 2:
Hold the top of your paper bag tightly and SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE!

Step 3:
Open up the paper bag and enjoy!

This was our result. Haha.. After tasting it, I can't found any special things about it. It was just like putting some seasoning into the fries. ><  My girl said " I still prefer the original french fries, now is like eating the salty fries only."

MY Vegetarian (Part 2) @ Seri Kembangan

Didn't know what to eat for dinner tonight, we back to My Vegetarian, hoping to taste some new and delicious vegetarian dishes, but somehow we got dissappointed this time.

The rice was cutely shaped and attracting. But some of my friends said that they do not like this shop because their food was too fancy and over-shaped hence lost the humility that vegetarian food should have.

Honey Rib Rice. (RM6.00)

Satay Chicken Rice. (RM6.00)

My girl gave me a piece of her "pai guat" and once biting into it, I said: " Why the meat was so hard?". Yea the meat was very hard to chew and we were actually expecting something chewy, juicy, "meaty" like the one we had back in Yisenshu.

The satay sauce was very rich and creamy, and the meat was tender and juicy too. However when I mixed the gravy together with my rice, it just made me felt very weird to taste saltiness out from sweetness and sweetness back to saltiness. I think next time I'll just order the satay, minus the rice.

BBQ Sauce Bean Curd. (RM8.00)

We ordered claypot taufu and turned out it become "glasspot" taufu. My girl was really particular with the claypot when ordering claypot taufu, she will always want it to be served in claypot because she said the taufu will taste nicer in claypot.

The gravy was not salty enough. Normal taufu was used but I prefer Japanese tofu. Average and nothing special.

Organic Prawn Siew Mai. (RM3.80)

The dim sum was a big let down. The taste was far different from the real dim sum. Sticky, soggy and tasted really weird.

It was Saturday and we actually hoped to get some good food, too bad luck was not by our side and we had been tasting below average food in a row for few days. Hope to get some nice food tomorrow, else my girl will be real moody. XD

Ajisen Ramen @ Sunway Pyramid

"one...two...three...four...five..yerrr...why so few slices..."

My girl mumbling and complaining to the Chicken Teriyaki served to her at Ajisen Ramen last Friday. One ringgit for one slice. >_<

We were there in this Japanese restaurant at Sunway Pyramid for lunch. Getting inside because we spotted a bunting highlighted that student will get 20% discount for the set and ala carte menu at Ajisen Ramen. However we came out with dissappointment.

My girl suddenly asked me to capture this...for no reason. =.=

Chicken Teriyaki Don. (RM9.80)

The chicken was crispy but not meaty. So much flour coating the chicken meat.

Loved tamago always. While chewing...my girl suddenly asked me: "How come got tamago? I thought the egg should be on the bed of rice..." hmm...right also... =.=

Beef Teriyaki Don. (RM9.80)

Not really nice as the meat was very dry and the portion was so little.

Well , nothing much to said in this post as the food there was below the average and I couldn't get anything more to write on it.

QR Noodle House @ Bandar Puteri Puchong

" Hello, hmm sorry, the chili paste has finished. Can you help me to refill it? "
" Oh..? sorry..wait a while yea. "
" Hello, hmm sorry, there's no chopstick on this table. "
" Oh..? sorry..wait a while yea. "

This is what happen to us when we went to QR Noodle House ( 上海面)at Bandar Puteri Puchong yesterday night.
We had not been there for quite some time and we found some new eatery shop over there. This shop caught our attention as we saw some flower baskets placed outside the shop. Hmm...newly opened? We guessed. And we tried it out.

At first we thought of ordering Shanghai noodles but the choices for it is so little. Though with the shop name as shanghai noodles ( * in chinese), they only got mini shanghai noodles, clear soup shanghai noodles, seafood noodles and tomyam shanghai noodles.

Feeling a bit dissapointed with the choices, we order Cantonese style "Ying Yong" and Mixed fruits fried rice.

Though the number of waiters there were more than enough, the operation in the shop looked clumsy.
When the food was served to us, there was no chopsticks, we wave to on of the waiters for some time then only they realized.  When I opened the chili paste container I can see the bottom of the container with only some chilli oil left inside. haihs...

Cantonese Style "Ying Yong". (RM6.90)
Served with vegetable, fish ball, fish cake slice, prawn & chicken.

The portion was quite small. Even my girl who is a small eater didn't feel full after finished the whole plate. About the mee, the gravy was a bit plain, the kuey teow was ok but the vermicelli is very hard like eating vermicelli crackers. =.=

The chef didn't even mix dark soy sauce evenly with the mee. I could see a patch of darker vermicelli here and lighter patch of vermicelli there...=.=..

Mixed Fruits Fried Rice. (RM7.90)
Served with vegetable, fish ball, fish cake slice, egg, prawn & mixed fruits.

Tomato, orange, apple and banana was topped at the fried rice. They served like a decoration to the fried rice rather than a combination to the rice.

The fried rice was full with "wok hei" but it was tasteless. I couldn't taste a single salty flavour and I had to eat my rice by kept adding soy sauce. But those small shrimp found among the bed of rice was cute.

This place was truly dissappointed and I think I wouldn't step in again.

iscream @ Tropicana City Mall

"I scream.... I scream.... I scream scream scream...."

Heeheee, I was not screaming for nothing and not screaming for destress either.
I was screaming for this long waiting scoop shop, Iscream in Tropicana City Mall.
Opened in September this year, this shop definitely won some attention for its creative shop name.It is actually a scoop shop selling premium ice cream. They have classic vanilla, mocha, yam, chocolate, chocolate vanilla and many other flavours of ice cream.

They are having a year end promotion where:
(a) you will be getting 1 FREE Junior Scoop with every purchase of 1 double regular or 1 triple regular scoop.
(b) you only need to add an extra RM1 for additional ONE Junior Scoop with every purchase of "ISCREAM ON THE ROCK!".

After testing on a few flavours, and just to get something new besides chocolate and chocolate and chocolate all the time when comes to choosing the flavours for our desserts, we finally pointed at the YAM flavour and asked for a regular scoop.

Here it is....and the chocolate chips was FREE OF CHARGE....! =).
Creamy, but not too sweet and we enjoy every spoonful of it.
We could find some yam paste once in a while having it melt in our mouth. Pretty nice for the price of RM5.90 for a regular scoop.

Hmm...actually I find the ice cream was just average comparing to Haagen Dazs and Baskin Robbin.
The taste is not that strong and rich.
However, I will still recommend you all to try out this ice cream, because any ice cream that can cheer up your day is a nice ice cream, and Iscream ice cream, does. =)

Tenji2 @ Bandar Puteri Puchong

"I was dissapointed'" My girl said.
"Me too." I said.
But no more when we were informed that Tenji2 will be offering ALA CARTE MENU this coming DECEMBER. And most importantly, it will be of the same price!

My girl came across this advertisement few days ago and both of us excitedly booked a place for the lunch buffet.

We went in happily and ended up feeling dissappointed.
We didn't see healthy herbal soup, creamy carbonara pasta, crunchy soft shell crab, refreshing young coconut and many more long-missing food we once tasted in Tenji Solaris Mont Kiara.

Nicole and Me

But later on, the secretary of the Tenji2 General Manager approached us at our table.
We remember her, my girl had been uttering beside my ear at the paying counter saying that : " Eh...the girl very pretty leh..smile so nice..=)."
She was the one who ushered us to our dining table.

Her name was Nicole. A pretty nice girl with a pretty good smile.

She apologized to the shortage of workers and service, so as the food spread.
Yea, the buffet spread was kinda less if compared with the one in Solaris Mont Kiara.
But she brought us a GOOD NEWS.
She apologized again ( * real polite =D ) for the limited variety served and this will continue until December. She continued that by December, Tenji2 will be offering much more variety in the buffet spread and customers can even order ala carte food from MENU. Nice right?
So guys, mark your calender on DECEMBER for Tenji2 ala carte Buffet !

So, just have a look with the spread they offer this moment..=)

Appetizers Corner

Sushi and Sashimi Corner

Sushi and Sashimi Corner

Cold Prawns

Oyster
Fresh and juicy.

Sushi was quite OK.

For some of the food I can hardly named them because there was no food caption beside all those dish. I could only briefly figure out their name.

Grilled Squid
The squid was grilled nicely and the tangy yet spicy sauce went just nice with the squid.

Grilled chicken
The meat was tender, falvourful and the gravy was yummy.

Pizza
The topping was cheesy but the pizza base was not fluffy and tasted like bread which had been left aside for few days. Not really recommended.

Saute Eggplant. NICE..

Dim Sum Corner

Siew Mai

Tempura Corner

Sauces

Fried Fish Ball

Lamb Shoulder
Juicy, tender and grilled to perfection. It is delicious enough to eat without accompanied by any gravy or sauce.

(left) Stir Fried Sausages with Onion
The sausages were average. But the onion was surprisingly flavorful and fragrant.
(right) Sweet and Sour Fish
Appetizing and tasty.

(left) Cheese Scallop
Cheesy yet juicy. It ran out fast in the tray and the chef kept refilling the tray with fresh baked cheese scallop.
(right) Prawn Tempura
The prawn was rolled in yam paste, breaded and fried into golden brown. Full of crispiness in every bite. Love this!

There were metal clips being placed on each table where you can choose the food you want and drop the clips in the bowl beside the dish displayed at the teppanyaki corner and the food will be served to your table upon ready.

(left) Stir-Fried Chicken
(right) Stir fried Enoki Mushroom

(left)  Prawn Teppanyaki
(Right) Tempura Nuggets

Roasted Lamb in the process. =)
I had been eyeing on it while walking up and down taking my food.
" When only it will be ready?" my heart shouted.

(left) Beef Teppanyaki
Nothing special.
(right) Roasted Lamb
The lamb was done after a long waiting. I walked away happily as the worker cut out two pieces of big fat roasted lamb into my plate. The lamb was meaty, tender and juicy. It went really well with the black pepper sauce.

Desserts Bar

Haagen Daz Ice Cream

Variety of cakes on the shelves.

Durian cake, Strawberry cake, Carrot cake

Chocolate Cupcake
Soft and chocolaty.

(left) Vanilla Swiss Roll with Chocolate
(right) Jelly with Peach

(left) Red Bean Mochi
(right) Strawberry Mousse Cake

Clockwise from top left: chocolate, cookies and cream, peach fruit, green tea. My girl especially like the green tea flavor and took many scoops of it.

The wafer was soft but lack of crispiness. It went well with the ice cream topping.

Chocolate Fountain
There are love letters, sugar candy, biscuit sticks, butter cookies as coating base. I found the melted chocolate was a bit diluted.

There were some fresh food for you after all the heavy foods. But the choices were limited.
